Why It's Amazing

Eco-explorer and mountaineer, Kai Fitchen takes hikers on the ultimate Cape Town adventure, along the India Venster trail to the top of Table Mountain. Here, breathtaking views of Devil’s Peak, the Cableway and the ocean can be absorbed.

Hikers then abseil down the slope of the mountain under Abseil Africa’s professional guidance. This is followed by a well-deserved picnic at a beautiful spot called Fountain Ledge. Here, Kai shares his stories about his expeditions to Mount Elbrus, Mount Kilimanjaro and Mount Kenya.

About the Guide

Kai’s love for the Cape came from clambering up and down Table Mountain whenever he could. When he was nine years old, he was diagnosed with epilepsy. Hiking and climbing was the only thing which allowed him to move past the ordeal. At the age of fifteen, he conquered Mount Kilimanjaro on an expedition aimed to raise awareness about the disease. Over the years, Kai has climbed numerous mountains and has done so in a manner that is eco-conscious and that inspires environmentally and socially responsible climbing expeditions.
