Established in 2007 by Neil Markovitz, Newmark Hotels & Reserves began its roots in Cape Town and continues to expand throughout Africa and beyond.
Initially established as the Ambassador Group in 1972, Newmark boasts a heritage of over 50 years of successful hotel-management. Over time, we have perfected the tradition of applying excellence to all of our endeavours and daily operations. Our extensive experience in managing prestigious and distinctive properties is matched by our determination to help owners realise their worth. This is made possible by a highly focused, motivated and skilled executive team, led by industry visionary, CEO and founder, Neil Markovitz.
Our team’s collaborative proficiency enables us to offer a comprehensive range of management services, specially tailored to suit each property. These services include assistance with and management of: finance, revenue, marketing, central reservations, operations, IT, human resources and sales.
We have over 14 properties in South Africa, 2 in Zanzibar, 1 in The Serengeti, 1 in Mauritius and, at the end of 2021, we officially expanded our European reach with a strategic acquisition in Portugal. Acquiring a stake in Unlock Boutique Hotels – specifically having a presence in the exciting locales of Porto, Evora, Monchique, Lisbon, Viana do Castelo, Grandola and Amarante – is purposefully aligned to our growth strategy.
In addition to Portugal, we have also set our sights on other high-value, high-growth countries, including the United Kingdom, France and Spain – an imminent move in line with our current European expansion strategy.
One of our greatest strengths is being able to successfully identify the unique attributes of each property and bring these to the marketplace’s attention through a bespoke, tailor-made model.
