If you’re taking a drive through Stellenbosch in the beautiful Cape Winelands, beat those hunger pangs by making a stop at The Eatery. This new establishment, located at Hazendal Wine Estate, serves up hearty grills and relaxed country fare.
Executive chef Michelle Theron and her skilled culinary team have done a splendid job creating a menu of South African favourites. Set in a historic kraal against the backdrop of rolling hills, guests can enjoy wood-fired pizzas, grills and a selection of tasty meals that take care of young diner’s smaller tummies.
South African Flavour Meets International Style
Every dish at The Eatery is an adventure of local flavours, bringing the taste of South Africa alive with every bite. The menu includes local favourites, such as burgers, braai, and oven-baked pizzas.
All burgers are grilled to perfection on the outdoor braai and served with potato or sweet potato fries. Options include beef, chicken, falafel, prawn, and pulled beef brisket burgers.
Pizza toppings include exotic mushrooms, goat’s cheese, gypsy ham, marinated artichokes, pepperoni, and heaps more.
Kids are not forgotten in this tantalising offering, and get their very own menu, with one of the favourites being the kids’ boerewors roll with veggie-based tomato sauce.
Explore adventurous sides like rainbow slaw and beer-battered onion rings, and you’re all set!
Alongside The Eatery’s menu of snacks, pizzas and burgers, diners can indulge in an exciting range of local craft beers, as well as Hazendal’s premium wines, vodkas and cocktails.
For the not so hungry a range of tasty bar snacks is on offer including mini pretzels, marinated olives, salami sticks, biltong and roasted nuts.
The Eatery is open every Wednesday to Sunday from 11:00 to 17:00.
