About Mpumalanga

Mpumalanga, which means “place where the sun rises”, is situated on the eastern side of South Africa and is one of the country’s nine provinces. It is home to a diverse range of fauna and flora which makes it a remarkable destination. World-famous attractions such as the Kruger National Park, Pilgrim’s Rest, the Blyde River Canyon and God’s Window are all located in this region.

The province is divided longitudinally into the Highveld, on the west, and the Lowveld, on the right. The Highveld is typically cooler than the Lowveld and experiences frosty winters whereas the Lowveld region has a subtropical climate, with milder winters. Summer brings rainfall and refreshing thunderstorms to the region.

About Mpumalanga, South Africa

We chose Nkomazi to celebrate my husband's birthday. It was a wonderful experience in so many regards. The luxury tented accommodation was beautifully appointed, the bed was very comfortable and the outdoor shower and bath, as well as the plunge pool added to the "close to nature" experience. The rooms are very private and it's hard to believe you're so deep in nature and have all that luxury at your fingertips… It was an unforgettable experience and we loved every minute of it.

We came for our honeymoon and it was just fabulous! From our tent, to the staff, down to the food, everything was perfect. I wish we could have stayed longer. Tents were also cleaned and heated at night, food was excellent and very tasty, and the staff very professional and friendly at all times. Thank you to the whole staff you made our stay unforgettable!

We stayed for 2 nights in this magnificent place. The "tents" were fantastic, food was perfect, the landscapes in Nkomazi are really amazing. Safari-experience is really great with rangers that take all the time to show you everything, also the smaller things. A "must visit" and a "must return to"!
