Child Minding Service
A child minding service is available upon request at an additional cost. Please provide a minimum of 24 hours’ notice.

Age Classifications

• Infant: Under 2 years
• Child: 2 to 11 years
• Adult: 12 years and older (charged at the adult rate when sharing or occupying their own room)

Accommodation & Activity Guidelines

• Children aged 6–9 years: May join game drives at the discretion of the guide.

Family Room & Presidential Tents: Accommodate up to two children sharing with two adults (maximum four guests).

• Child rate (0–2 years): No charge
• Child rate (3–11 years): Child rates apply

Honeymoon Tent: Can accommodate one child sharing with two adults (maximum three guests). Extra rates apply.

Guests may check in until 19:00, provided they have entered the reserve gate by 18:15. If you are unable to arrive by this time, a mandatory escorted transfer can be arranged at a cost of R2,500. This service is available until 20:30, allowing for lodge arrival by 21:00.

Unfortunately, pets are not permitted at Nkomazi Private Game Reserve.

There is no formal gym facility; however, guests are welcome to enjoy walks or runs within the designated lodge grounds.

The nearest public hospital is Embhuleni Hospital in Elukwatini, located approximately 21km from the reserve gate and open 24 hours a day. The nearest private hospital is Mediclinic Barberton, situated approximately 90km from the reserve gate, also open 24 hours a day.

Nkomazi Private Game Reserve is approximately 3.5 hours' drive (300 km) from Johannesburg, making it a convenient luxury safari getaway in Mpumalanga.

Two game drives are included per night of your stay.

The best time to visit is May to September (dry season) for prime wildlife viewing, while October to April (green season) offers lush landscapes and migratory bird sightings.

There is no formal dress code; however, comfortable clothing in neutral colours and closed shoes are recommended.

Yes, children are welcome at the lodge, and child-friendly meals can be provided. Children aged six years and older may participate in game drives. Babysitting services are available at an additional cost and can be arranged in advance.

A 4x4 vehicle is not always required. A compact SUV with sufficient ground clearance is suitable under normal weather conditions. During periods of heavy rain, a 4x4 vehicle is recommended due to slippery gravel roads.

Check-out is at 11:00. This applies whether guests are self-driving or using lodge transfers to the reserve gate.

Complimentary transfers between the reserve gate and the lodge are available at 11:00 and 13:00. Transfers outside of these scheduled times can be arranged at an additional cost.

Yes, airport transfers can be arranged through a trusted third-party provider. Please provide your flight details and the number of guests in advance so arrangements can be made.

Yes, the lodge is fenced for guest safety. Guests are asked to remain on designated pathways at all times, particularly after dark, as the surrounding environment is home to natural wildlife, including nocturnal species.
