A Rare Find: Discovering facets of The Onyx
Posted on: 31 August 2018
Onyx is similar in appearance to black sapphire; a rare, striking gemstone, which perfectly mirrors the property’s essence. While the property will boast attainable luxury, it will no doubt exceed guests’ expectations.
Spaciousness, comfort, thoughtfully-introduced amenities, as well as top-class relaxation facilities will beckon guests to experience the best of Cape Town’s chicness. According to The Onyx’s General Manager, Paul Rivett, The Onyx will embody far more than just the physical property and its facilities, outstanding as they will be.
“What will really set this hotel apart is its team members who will bring the property to life,” says Paul. “At Newmark, we see great value in employing staff not only with the appropriate skills but also with the right attitude and warm personality traits. After all, our greatest aim is to offer our valued guests exceptional service and to provide them with a special, emotional experience which underpins lasting memories. The Onyx will be no exception.”
As mentioned in our previous newsletter, convenience is another aspect that has been highly prioritised in the conceptualisation and development of The Onyx. Each apartment-style room will feature luxuries such as bathrobes and slippers, a minimum of one large-screen smart TV, handy hotel amenities and a fully-equipped kitchenette. Appliances have been carefully selected to include high-quality items by leading brands such as SMEG, Samsung and Bosch.
This setup is perfect for those who enjoy staying in and preparing their own meals. But, for those who prefer to dine out, the options are almost endless. The Onyx will be home to trendy restaurants on its ground floor, providing guests with easy access to exceptional dining.
In July 2018, a Woolworths food store opened in the Foreshore area, within walking distance from The Onyx. Here, guests will be able to purchase a variety of top-end grocery products. Cape Town, of course, also boasts a plethora of outstanding restaurants, many of which are found in the V&A Waterfront. Guests can make use of the complimentary shuttle which runs from The Onyx to the Waterfront on a schedule to explore these culinary options, in addition to all that this precinct has to offer.
Of course, guests will also be able to absorb the city’s happenings from the fourth floor, where top-class gym facilities, a bar and a swimming pool look out over Cape Town, with breathtaking views of Table Mountain. Considering that The Onyx has had expert input from leaders in the property development and hospitality industries, it is hardly a surprise that this spectacular mélange of offerings is coming together so neatly to form what will without a doubt be one of the country’s leading mixed-purpose properties. In fact, The Onyx has already scooped international property awards, which is testament to the excellent work that has gone into this development.
“Working with Signatura, the property developer, together with Newmark has been incredible. It’s a privilege to be part of a multidimensional team of such high calibre. And, as we draw nearer to The Onyx’s opening on 01 December 2018, we continue to gain enthusiasm as we see facets of the project being polished, ready for presentation. I am counting the days to welcoming guests and introducing them to the rare experience that awaits at The Onyx,” concludes Paul.
