Terrarium

Local flavour meets the height of culinary creativity at Terrarium, hosted at the Queen Victoria Hotel. For the menu, guests are invited to an 8-course Flora & Fauna dinner with optional wine pairings. Think fresh oysters, sourdough, herbed tom yum, tomato tartare or peach atchar, and seasonal garden sorbet. The à la carte menu boasts richness of flavour and culinary skill with the likes of braaied lamb's tail, beef drippings, 16-hour smoked beef brisket, wild Kalahari rib-eye and fish with braised fennel.

The only thing better than the menu is the dessert menu, featuring chai ice cream, Hertzoggie, charred fruit cake with rooibos stewed fruit, and local Lavache cheeses.

GINJA

Located at the Victoria & Alfred Hotel along the V&A Waterfront, GINJA has made a striking impression this year with its refreshing menu and spectacular views. We’ve singled it out as an ideal year-end function venue for this very reason, and of course, the delectable, year-end curated menu.

GINJA offers bistro-style all-day dining with a capacity of 75 up to150 guests, depending on your event requirements. Breakfast and Sunday brunch are served with a complimentary drink and live music, offering fresh local cuisine prepared masterfully.

Guests can also enjoy two- or three-course meals, with the likes of salt and pepper squid, roasted cauliflower, linefish, beef ragu, beef short rib, and GINJA’s very own speciality chicken. Desserts are equally tantalising with a lineup of smores, apple tart and crème caramel, all crafted by expert chefs. The restaurant can host parties of 30 for sit-down dinners or 80 for standing cocktails. Guests can also hire out the Victoria private dining room, ideal for intimate gatherings or VIP events.
