Africa’s Most Exceptional Show
Posted on: 1 November 2018
There is arguably no greater spectacle to be observed in Africa than the Great Wildebeest Migration. And what an immense privilege it is for us, at Newmark, to be able to provide “front-row seats” to visitors from around the world at the ultra-luxurious Serengeti Explorer Camp. This tented camp moves twice a year between the northern and southern regions of the Serengeti National Park to offer the best possible viewing of the migration.
With great anticipation and much enthusiasm, we now look forward to the opening of the camp site in Ndutu in the very near future, on 22 December 2018. The southern, Ndutu region is located on the border of the Serengeti National Park and the Ngorongoro Conservation Area. Sweeping grasslands that characterise this area set the stage for the migration and stunning views over Lake Ndutu add to the visual appeal of the location.
While Newmark is committed to leaving a green footprint in the national park, guests are assured of high levels of comfort and luxuriousness. Guests are welcomed with special gestures, including being offered a cooled towel and a complimentary refreshment on arrival. A personal valet also tends to guests and their tents. The ten Deluxe Tents are comfortably spacious, with a sizeable living area, ideally suited to couples or families of two parents and one child. The two Family Tents are larger in size than the Deluxe Tents and are perfect for families of four. Each tent features a protected verandah where views of the bush can be absorbed in comfort.
A separate, communal lounge tent includes comfortable sofas made from reclaimed wood, a fully-stocked bar, a library and board games. Youngsters, aged six to fifteen, can look forward to the Rafiki Explorer Club which includes fun activities such as footprint tracking, animal call identification, cooking and traditional African board games. It’s a thrilling adventure for all – yet another unforgettable Newmark experience that’s not to be missed.
