Motswari recipes to try!

One of the best things about a Motswari visit, even if we have to say so ourselves, is the chance to experience our delicious cuisine! More often than not we get fantastic compliments on our good food and talented chefs, and many a times are asked for the recipes on beloved dishes. So, we thought that we would provide you with two simple yet very yummy recipes to try at home. Let us know how they turn out!
Whole-wheat Yogurt Bread
Ingredients:
- 500ml Whole-wheat Flour
- 500ml Cake Flour
- 500ml Plain Yogurt
- 5ml Salt
- 10ml Brown Sugar
- 7ml Bicarbonate of Soda
- Sesame and Sunflower seeds for sprinkling
Method:
Place all dry ingredients in a large mixing bowl.
Add the yogurt and stir lightly until the mixture is combined.
Place the dough in a well-greased 28cm loaf tin.
Smooth the top using an oiled knife and cut 1cm deep along the length of the loaf.
Sprinkle with sunflower and sesame seeds and bake for 1 hour at 180 degrees.
Scones
Ingredients:
(makes 9)
- ½ Cup Milk
- 2 Cups Flour
- ½ Teaspoon Salt
- 4 Teaspoons Baking Powder
- ¼ Cup Sugar
- 125g Butter
- 2 Eggs
- 3 Teaspoons Sugar
Method:
Pre-heat oven to 180 degrees.
Whisk the milk, eggs and sugar together.
Siv the dry ingredients and add the butter – texture should be crumbly.
Add the egg mixture.
Grease a muffin pan.
Spoon the mixture into the pan.
Bake for 15 to 20 minutes.
