Geiger’s Camp, a sanctuary of tranquility

Geiger’s Camp at Motswari Private Safari is a sanctuary of tranquility and intimacy that you rarely find at safari lodges. With only four rooms accommodating a maximum of eight people, you can truly feel like you’re in a home away from home.
A complete refurbishment took place in early 2018 where the opulent rooms with their own private shaded patio or courtyard along with an outdoor shower, ooze serenity and luxury, encouraging you to fully submerse yourself in this authentic African environment. Owners Marion and Fabrice are a formidable team when it comes to Geiger’s Camp. Their creative efforts regarding design and artistic input on every level from gardens, sculptures, room décor, embracing and engaging local talents leaves no stone unturned and creates a camp that is like no other.
You enter the lodge through a walkway, up a stone staircase into the body of the verandah where the most stunning vista awaits. Looking west towards the majestic Drakensberg mountains, kilometres of the Timbavati spread before you, with the possibility of wildlife roaming in the distance. This view is enveloped by an array of lounge areas, be it the library, around the infinity pool or simply tucked away in a corner in the most comfortable arm chairs, there is escalated privacy you can’t fail to enjoy. Soak up the idyllic surroundings to the sound of the cape turtle dove, hornbills and tree squirrels all going about their daily activity in this bushveld heaven.
We pride ourselves on ensuring you have a maximum of six people on the vehicle, unless you are a group of eight travelling together, giving you the dedicated and attentive experience from all of the Geiger’s Camp team, start to finish. The warm hospitality and stunning surroundings make this camp a must for anyone looking to escape the hustle and bustle of larger lodge life, embracing the peace and quiet of an intimate and soothing atmosphere.
The culinary delights on offer by our talented chefs will tickle your taste buds at every meal. Brunch after morning drive, high tea just before afternoon drive and then dinner to round off your evening will leave your taste buds in a heaven they may not have experienced before. Whether you’re dining in the boma or on the verandah, the ambience will enhance your African experience in a truly natural way. After all food is an experience and a pleasure, so the Geiger’s Camp team strives to exceed expectations on all counts.
There is no shortage of things to do during the downtime between game drives. A Spa therapist is available daily, there is a library with a plethora of reading material and board games at your disposal, not to mention the beautiful infinity pool looking over the majestic view we mentioned earlier. Whatever your whim, we have the place and means to ensure you unwind in any way you choose.
Don’t just take our word for it, here are some comments from the Geiger’s Camp Guest Book from the last few weeks (May 2019):
Neil and Louise – Fabulous stay, celebrating our honeymoon and a birthday (thank you for the amazing chocolate cake Abigail). All the staff are so friendly and helpful, it really has been amazing. Thank you all!

If subtle luxury, with a rustic charm, accompanied by unmatched hospitality is your dream safari then your exclusive hideaway awaits at Geiger’s Camp.
