Bupenyu translates to the state of being alive. With appreciation for our surroundings, abounding in various life forms, we desire to conserve the ecosystem and preserve the natural splendour that is characteristic of this region. We do so in the following ways:
Leveraging solar energy — We have installed over 700 solar PV panels that generate renewable energy for use at the lodge.

Growing indigenous produce in our onsite garden — We cultivate our own produce, including fresh fruits, vegetables and herbs. This enables us to use seasonal ingredients and to foster a culture of sustainability among our staff and guests.
