Blaauwklippen is ideally located along the R44 near to Stellenbosch — one of the most celebrated wine and culinary regions of South Africa with a number of top-rated local restaurants that regularly receive local and international awards.
Stellenbosch, a historic destination, is dotted with Cape Dutch-style buildings and oak-lined streets and perfectly depicts the charm of years gone by, while exuding a sense of vibrancy. It is a hub of art, culture and entertainment, with a number of galleries, museums and historical sites that point to the town’s heritage. Here, you will also find street-side cafés, plenty of restaurants and shops filled with locally crafted items.
From Stellenbosch, there is easy access to the rest of the winelands region and towns like Franschhoek, Paarl and Somerset West. For golf enthusiasts, De Zalze Golf Club and Stellenbosch Golf Club are both less than two-minutes from Blaauwklippen.
The estate is also not a far drive from the city of Cape Town, giving you almost endless choices to craft your ideal holiday.
The region’s Mediterranean climate makes for pleasant summers, although winds can pick up. Notwithstanding the Cape’s unpredictable weather, which has earned it the reputation of having four seasons in one day, the region experiences an average of over 3 000 hours of sunshine a year.
