Chuini Zanzibar Beach Lodge’s liberating yoga retreat provides participants – whether beginners or advanced practitioners – with the opportunity to break away from everyday stressors and to be rejuvenated by restorative and energising sequences in a sublime setting. This crisp, beachside location encourages relaxation and stress relief.
This retreat allows participants the opportunity to develop their understanding of all eight limbs of yoga, and to learn certain yogic tools of asana (posture) that help to ease the mind and body of tension. The physical practice of yoga emphasises the inherent synchronicity between movement, breath and inner focus.
Chuini Zanzibar Beach Lodge’s Ishta Mala yoga classes include simple, gentle yoga sequences, an introduction to pranayama (breath work), and meditation. Sequences also include some Pilates techniques that are aimed at dynamically strengthening participants’ core. Evening classes include yoga nidra, guided meditation, gentle breathing and satsang (group discussions).
These simple, gentle sequences are easily undertaken as they are intended to benefit both beginners and those who practise regularly; young and mature. Participants are provided with tools to create a daily sequence, which can be adapted to suit their needs on a physical level and in accordance with their lifestyles.
These yoga sessions are led by Lisa Wright, a highly-capable yoga instructor who views this form of exercise as a way of life. She is passionate about sharing what she has gained through yoga with others via our retreat. These sessions leave participants feeling relaxed, rejuvenated and well rested.
