Between River and Rock

After the Kruger and lowveld browns and scrub, Nkomazi Game Reserve near eManzana in eastern Mpumalanga is impossibly green and open, marked with granite koppies that look like the result of some kind of geological tantrum – all tossed boulders the size of a house piled high on the plains. This is the middleveld, where both highveld and lowveld animals thrive.
